#NoDAPL Manicure

This manicure is in support of the #NoDAPL movement in Cannon Ball, North Dakota. The Standing Rock Sioux Nation is protesting the placement of the Dakota Access Pipeline.  This movement has grown substantially in size, to include solidarity and support from all areas of the world.  It has brought together all the Native American nations in the United States.  This is the first time in history that all Native nations have come together.  It has brought together the seven council fires of the Sioux, they are the Oceti Sakowin.
The protesters call themselves 'water protectors', because they want to protect and keep the water clean and free from oil.  Putting the pipeline under the Missouri River, less than a 1/4 mile from the Standing Rock reservation, endangers the water supply, not just for the tribes people, but all of us.  Protecting the right to clean water should concern everyone. It should be something that all of us can support, and stand behind.
The pipeline does not have permission as of yet, to start putting the pipeline under the river. The issue is being reviewed by the Army Corps of Engineers. The hope is that they will not place the pipeline in this location, and even more so, that they will not be able to place the pipeline anywhere under the Missouri River.
There is a camp, The Sacred Stone Camp, that has been set up since April 2016. It was the first camp. There are a number of camps in that same area now. Water protectors from around the country, and even from other parts of the world, have and are visiting this camp regularly. The camp is currently preparing for winter. They are in it for the long haul. Very dedicated and inspiring people.
You can help this movement by donating to Sacred Stone Camp ,  and you can also find items on Amazon under Sacred Stone Camp Wishlist .for items they need for winter etc.  #mniwiconi #waterislife #Istandwithstandingrock

Vapid - California Jelly Holos

These were my very first Vapid polishes.  I only bought 3 but they won't be my last. I am in love ❤.
They are all two coats, and they apply like a dream. I used seche vite fast dry top coat so I'm not sure of their drying time.
The first one is the beautiful  1000 Steps.  It is a violet purplish color.
The second is Salt Creek, and I adore this color.  It's a stunning teal, turquoise.
The third is Pismo. It is a pretty,  sherbet orange color.
I, of course like to do nail art, so all of these manis have some sort of nail art design on them. Macros included so you can see the luscious holo goodness of each jelly polish.
Enjoy!

Sparkly Pink Chevron Manicure

This is a limited edition polish, made only for a swap group that I'm a member of. It is so beautiful.  It is called Anniversary Diva and it is by Cupcake Polish.  It is a pink micro glitter with Gold holo.
I also used Kleancolor Pastel Pink.  Whatsupnails chevron vinyls.  Just some random rhinestones for more added bling to this mani.
I've never had bad luck with nail vinyls.  I put them on my nail and make sure they are affixed good around the cuticle and then paint over the top of them.  I make sure to peel them off as soon as I paint over it too. I generally do one at a time.  If that helps any.
Enjoy!

Ephemera Prosecco Nails

This manicure is a favorite of mine for a few different reasons.
1. It uses one of my favorite color polishes: Sinful Colors, Prosecco.
I mean not many people don't love Prosecco. Am I right?
2. Prosecco as a base, left me with a great canvas for an ephamira theme.
What is ephamira? It is something that was not meant to last.  But has been given another use.  Typically it is typed it printed word, or cards etc. That have one use, but are repurposed into something beautiful.
3. I love layering stamping on my nails.
I'm not sure why I don't do it more often.
Back to the nitty gritty.  I started my nails with the Smoosh technique.  I used Sinful Colors Prosecco, & Karamel, from the King Kylie collection. This have my nails a slight color variation.   I then stamped my nails using the Moyra vintage stamping plate. I stamped the script first using Sinful Colors Gold Medal.  Then I stamped the birds using DRK stamping polish in Dark Purple.  I topped off with seche vite quick dry top coat and voila!

Bright Sparkly Orange Floral

I love this polish.  It's so bright and fun,  and don't forget sparkly!  It's one of the polishes from the China Glaze Lite Brites collection.  It's called,  Papa Don't Peach.
All the polishes from this collection are perfect for summer, but this one is killer in the sun.  The sparkle is amazing!
I stamped over this mani with a black stamping polish from Jolie Polish.  I used an Uber Chic stamping plate.  The Uber stamping plates are always amazing. Ice never had any issues.
I used the clear jelly stamper from the Born Pretty Store.  This is pretty much the only stamper I will use now.  It is perfect for beginner stampers because it picks up amazingly and it basically gives you flawless stamping.
     Enjoy!

Tye Dye Smoosh Nails

Can you believe this was my first Smoosh manicure?  I know right? !
The Smoosh method is when you dot several nail polish colors on a stamper head, then take another stamper, and you Smoosh them together.  It spreads the colors, then you just place the stamper onto your nail. Voila!
It is best to use a base color to lay the Smoosh design onto. In my opinion of course.
Anyway. ....
I used China Glaze lite brites colors for this mani, smooshed over a white base. I then stamped over it with Jolie Polish,  black stamping polish.  I used a bundle Monster stamping plate.  Applied seche vite fast dry top coat and called it done.  After clean up of course, because there is s bit of clean up required when you do the Smoosh method.

Perfect Pink

This mani is one of my all time favorites.
Sinful Colors Kylie collection,  Miss Chief.
I stamped it with Gold Medal, also a #sinfulcolors  polish.
This polish has a slight shimmer to it that makes it look ethereal. I thought the gold really compliments the pink.  I have always adored sinful Colors polish.
I also used an Uber Chic stamping plate.
Just check out that gorgeous macro!

Cupcake Polish & Cats

This polish is called "Sasha's Blue", from Cupcake Polish.  Let me just say that pictures do not do this polish justice!  The sparkle and shine this polish has is nothing short of stunning!  I'm in love❤.
Okay, now that I got that out of the way, I'll let you know the deal with this mani.  It was for the #nailartchallenge on instagram.  The prompt was, "your favorite animal". Naturally it's cats.  
I got the decals from a swap so I couldn't tell you exactly where they came from, but I have seen the same ones at Bundle Monser and The Born Pretty Store.
Just a seche vite top coat, and voila!  Finished.

Steampunk Inspired Nails

These nails didn't start off with this design in mind.  I had a totally different plan, but that plan went south as soon as I laid down my base color.
I like the color of this polish in the bottle, but once I had it on my nails it was another story.
The base color is called Evening Light, and it is by Glitter Gal.
I didn't want to waste good mani time or polish, so I thought I could cover up the color with a bit of foil.  Don't get me wrong.  The polish is pretty but it's not the right color for me.
I took some blue holo foil, and pressed it onto my nails after I applied the glue adhesive to my nails.  I let it sit for just a minute then peeled the foil off.
I was hoping for patchy results and thats what I got!  Yay! Something went right.
I then added some real watch parts that I salvaged from old wind up watches.
The end result is what you see pictured.
I do like how they came out in the end.  It's unique and the design is cohesive.
IMHO.
~ until next time my sweets! 

Edward Scissorhands Nails

I know Im a slacker lol.
But this is what I have done lately. I just did these Edward Scissorhands nails.
I had to do a pink promp or theme for a nail challenge and I also had one on the same day for one of your favorite films. Well i recycled my pink mani and stamped the Edward Scissorhands.  Which actual is one of my favorites from when I was a teen. Yes, I'm. old. lol.
I used the Sugar Bubbles stamping plate 010.
OPI Spoken From the Heart - from the Hello Kitty collection.
